Oboe Concerto Repertoire
|
Following his concerto debut in 1978 at St. John's
Smith Square (Y.M.S.O/Blair) performing Lennox Berkeley's Sinfonia Concertante
in the presence of the composer, David Cowley has given many oboe concerto
performances at venues including the Queen Elizabeth Hall and St. David's
Hall.
Broadcasts on Radio Three and BBC television include concerti by Mozart,
Strauss, Handel, Francaix, Martinu and Vaughan-Williams as well as much
contemporary music - notably the world premiere of the Concerto for Oboe
by Guto Pryderi Puw and concerti by Hoddinott and Mathias, also available
on the Nimbus label, the Muldowney Concerto and Lutoslawski's Double Concerto
for oboe and harp with Catrin Finch.
